West Nashville Moose Lodge 2221 Due to the limited parking and the increased liability on the Lodge, the Board of Officers has decided to limit the time that campers and other types of personal vehicles can stay on Lodge property to fourteen days (2 weeks). We regret having to take this action but felt is in best interest for all our members and our Lodge. Thank you, The Board of Officers

MOOSE HISTORY SERIES Moose History - In 1888 our founder, Dr. John Henry Wilson of Louisville, KY, formally established us as a largely social organization. In 1906, James J. David of Elwood, IN, became the 247th member and with his enthusiasm transformed a small fraternity into a dynamic social force which within seven years, boasted 1,000 Moose homes and more than 500,000 members. Women of the Moose History - In 1913, the Women of the Moose was launched. While they operate their own unique philanthropic programs, these 500,000 plus members are an indispensable part of the Moose family. |

GOVERNOR'S MESSAGE |
||
|
Well, May is here - the start of a new year. For those of you who
don't know, I am Jim Melton. I will be your Governor this
year. I look forward to serving our Lodge. I would like to
thank all of the officers that served on the Board last year and welcome
our new officers. We had a good year. Thank you for your
support.
We have a lot of plans for the coming year, but still need your ideas. We have a memorial service planned for May 12th. Try and come out for that. Our Wednesday night dinners on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays are doing well. Come out for the good food. Remember, talk Moose, bring a friend and sign a new member. |

BROTHERS AND LADIES We do not or need to part our vehicles on the West side of our building. This is not only an inconvenience to people coming in and going out, but it is also a VIOLATION of our fire code. If you keep parting there, the fine will be yours to pay. Thanks for your effort and cooperation on this matter. |

Family Activity and Sports Chairman With all the addition nearly complete, we have a few things planned. If you would like to suggest something or are interested in coming up with something, you can contact me at: 837-5874 We need things to do to keep everyone talking MOOSE. Stu Weaver |
| GIMMIE 5 CHAIRMAN |
|
Hello, I am Bob Spingler, West Nashville Gimme 5 Chairman.
I am sure that by now you have heard or read in your Moose magazine the facts about the Gimme 5 Program for the Moose. We the Moose stand for kids and our seniors that was one of the precepts we all committed to when we joined the Moose. We are in need of your help! We are all facing the rising costs of fuel, utilities, food, and much more, so too is the Moose. The long winter nights in the Chicago area takes toll on our budget. The current program is asking that you set aside .05 cents in the morning and .05 cents at night each day or $26.50 a year for the next five years. These funds will not be spent on current operations, but as a buffer to continue our support of our kids and seniors in years to come. The total five year tax deductible contribution of $182.50 from all members of the Moose will achieve that goal. I am asking you to do a few things now. First, those with access to a computer, go on line to the following Internet pages and see what is going on in the Moose, http://www.mooseintl.org or http://www.moosecharities.org and read the stories of our beloved Mooseheart and Moosehaven. While you are there please make your first year donations of $36.50 or more to help our cause. You can also mail your check to Moose Charities. We will also try to have some small fund raisers at the Lodge in the future, we hop you will participate. I would like to sometime in the future have a day at the Lodge so I can explain the total program to those that are interested. Also any questions may be addressed to Lodge221@mooseunits.org and we will answer them. Please if you can, help us reach our Lodge goal.

| GOOD SEARCH |
|
What if Mooseheart or Moosehaven earned a penny every time you searched the
Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made
online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!
GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo and watch the donations add up! The more people who use this size, the more money that goes to our children and seniors. GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall that donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macys and Barnes & Nobel have teamed up with Good Shop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause. There is a website: http://www.goodsearch.com that will donate to your selected charity, Moose International. You can even put it on your toolbar so it's the same place your current search engine is located. Why not donate ever time you search for something on the Internet? It will only cost you the time to install the search engine. The directions are very easy to follow, so go to http://www.goodsearch.com now. After you install Goodsearch, don't forget to install the toolbar so it's always on your page on top. You can always check out the website and see how much we got donated to Moose International. The site is Goodsearch.com. If you have another charity you think would be good for this program, just let them know. Year to date $44.77, based on 100 people doing 2 searches a day is $750. Shopping $500 a year, donate 3% equals a total donation of $2,230. There are only 73 supporters, let's spread the word. The West Nashville Moose can make a difference if we try. GOD BLESS YOU!
