Moose Lodge 2221
Campers and Members
 Parking New Policy
Effective 1/1/12

Due to the limited parking and the increased liability on the Lodge, the Board of Officers have decided to limit the time that campers and other types of personal vehicles can stay on Lodge property to fourteen days (2 weeks).  We regret having to take this action but felt is in best interest for all our members and our Lodge.

Notice:  Due to safety and health
department regulations pets are to remain outside of the Lodge away from entry doors.  Dogs should be kept on a leash in the rear or to the side of the Lodge.  Service dogs are allowed indoors with their owners.

Also, the Board wants to keep a safe, friendly environment for our family members and children.  Please be mindful of others with your language in the social quarters.  We ask that parents keep control of their children while in the Lodge.

Starting November 1st children are to leave the Lodge by 9 pm Sunday - Thursday and by 10 pm Friday and Saturday unless there is a social event going on.  Then they must leave soon as the event is over.

THE PURPOSE OF
YOUR
MOOSE LODGE

THE PURPOSE OF MOOSEHEART
  THE CHILD CITY

The purpose of your Moose Lodge is not operating your social quarters.  Your social quarters are a privilege of membership.  The purpose of your Moose Lodge is Mooseheart - the Child City, Moosehaven - the City of Contentment and Community services, "The Heart of the Community".  Our core community service projects are:  Safe Surfing, Special Olympics, Tommy Moose and Youth Awareness.

See our next newsletter for details about one of these projects.

Do you know when you joined the Moose Fraternity that YOU became a Dad or Mom or Grandparent to approximately 250 children residing at Mooseheart?  Do you know when you joined the Moose that YOU accepted part of the responsibility to feed, clothe, house and educate these 250 children?  This is THE PURPOSE for YOUR Lodge to exist.  Please ask about the Endowment Fund.

More details in your newsletter.

ADMINISTRATOR'S MESSAGE
Hello moose members

We will be having a hot chicken on the 22nd this month. Thanksgivings dinner 24th please bring a side dish.

Curtis Wright and friends will be playing November 19th for a benefit for Joe York's family, so come out and listen to some really good music.

The first Friday fish dinner is back on schedule.

Remember On the 3rd Friday the women of the moose are cooking dinner, and It will be a changing dinner from month to month but will be listed on the white board as you come in the lodge and also in the calendar.

Beer prices will increase next month on Blue Moon and Red Strip by .25 and pitcher by 1.00.

We need anyone wanting to eat the Friday dinners sign up or call the lodge and get on the list by 1 on that Friday so we know how much to cook.

We need moose members to show their cards to the bartenders. Anyone signing in a guest needs to fill out the sign in book completely, and remember you are responsible for them and must pay their bill. we must do all of these for our tax exemption status.

GIMMIE 5 CHAIRMAN
Hello, I am Bob Spingler, West Nashville Gimme 5 Chairman.

I am sure that by now you have heard or read in your Moose magazine the facts about the Gimme 5 Program for the Moose.

We the Moose stand for kids and our seniors that was one of the precepts we all committed to when we joined the Moose.

We are in need of your help!  We are all facing the rising costs of fuel, utilities, food, and much more, so too is the Moose.  The long winter nights in the Chicago area takes toll on our budget.

The current program is asking that you set aside .05 cents in the morning and .05 cents at night each day or $26.50 a year for the next five years.  These funds will not be spent on current operations, but as a buffer to continue our support of our kids and seniors in years to come.  The total five year tax deductible contribution of $182.50 from all members of the Moose will achieve that goal.

I am asking you to do a few things now.  First, those with access to a computer, go on line to the following Internet pages and see what is going on in the Moose, http://www.mooseintl.org  or http://www.moosecharities.org  and read the stories of our beloved Mooseheart and Moosehaven.

While you are there please make your first year donations of $36.50 or more to help our cause.  You can also mail your check to Moose Charities.

We will also try to have some small fund raisers at the Lodge in the future, we hop you will participate.

I would like to sometime in the future have a day at the Lodge so I can explain the total program to those that are interested.  Also any questions may be addressed to Lodge221@mooseunits.org and we will answer them.

Please if you can, help us reach our Lodge goal.

GOOD SEARCH
What if Mooseheart or Moosehaven earned a penny every time you searched the Internet?  Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause?  Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate.  Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo and watch the donations add up!  The more people who use this size, the more money that goes to our children and seniors.

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall that donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause!  Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macys and Barnes & Nobel have teamed up with Good Shop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

There is a website: http://www.goodsearch.com that will donate to your selected charity, Moose International.  You can even put it on your toolbar so it's the same place your current search engine is located.  Why not donate ever time you search for something on the Internet?  It will only cost you the time to install the search engine.  The directions are very easy to follow, so go to http://www.goodsearch.com now.  After you install Goodsearch, don't forget to install the toolbar so it's always on your page on top.

You can always check out the website and see how much we got donated to Moose International.  The site is Goodsearch.com.  If you have another charity you think would be good for this program, just let them know.  Year to date $44.77, based on 100 people doing 2 searches a day is $750.  Shopping $500 a year, donate 3% equals a total donation of $2,230.  There are only 73 supporters, let's spread the word.  The West Nashville Moose can make a difference if we try

GOD BLESS YOU!

WOMEN OF THE MOOSE

Hello Ladies!

 Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Tis the month to be thankful! Every month is a blessing to be
thankful for family, friends, and our kids at Mooseheart and our seniors at
Moosehaven.

Please show your support and come to our wonderful Lodge dinners, WOTM
dinners and bake sales. Thank you Ladies for all your hard work!

On Nov. 1st Anna Shelby will be receiving her red stole,
and Joy Maynard will be getting her tassel changed to red. We
are very thankful for this ceremony as it takes years to get this far
in Women of the Moose!

They are both very excited. Tell these ladies congratulation, if you see them.

Our meetings are Nov. 1st and 15th at 6pm., always the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every
month. Please try and attend. Find out what we are all about and what we support.

Our WOTM Dinner on Nov. 18th will be spiral ham with all the trimmings. A full
menu will be posted closer to the dinner date. And our bake sales are on the 11th and 25th steak nights.

The WOTM took goodie bags to 60 children at St. Luke’s School on Halloween. They sure
were happy! Our dinners are doing very well!

Thanks to everyone for supporting it! Big
thanks to all the cooks, servers
and kitchen help! Hard working crew!

Please watch next month for the Christmas parties and Dirty Santa. So much fun!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
