Notice:  Due to safety and health department regulations pets are to remain outside of the Lodge away from entry doors.  Dogs should be kept on a leash in the rear or to the side of the Lodge.  Service dogs are allowed indoors with their owners.

Also, the Board wants to keep a safe, friendly environment for our family members and children.  Please be mindful of others with your language in the social quarters.  We ask that parents keep control of their children while in the Lodge.

Starting November 1st children are to leave the Lodge by 9 pm Sunday - Thursday and by 10 pm Friday and Saturday unless there is a social event going on.  Then they must leave soon as the event is over.

Thanks!  House Committee.

Campers and Members Parking - New Policy
Effective 1/1/12

Due to the limited parking and the increased liability on the Lodge, the Board of Officers has decided to limit the time that campers and other types of personal vehicles can stay on Lodge property to fourteen days (2 weeks).  We regret having to take this action but felt is in best interest for all our members and our Lodge.

Thank you, The Board of Officers

The purpose of your Moose Lodge is not operating your social quarters.  Your social quarters are a privilege of membership.  The purpose of your Moose Lodge is Mooseheart - the Child City, Moosehaven - the City of Contentment and Community services, "The Heart of the Community".  Our core community service projects are:  Safe Surfing, Special Olympics, Tommy Moose and Youth Awareness.  Se our next newsletter for details about one of these projects.

Larry Mullens, Past Governor
Moose Charities Chairman

Moose History - In 1888 our founder, Dr. John Henry Wilson of Louisville, KY, formally established us as a largely social organization.  In 1906, James J. David of Elwood, IN, became the 247th member and with his enthusiasm transformed a small fraternity into a dynamic social force which within seven years, boasted 1,000 Moose homes and more than 500,000 members.

Women of the Moose History - In 1913, the Women of the Moose was launched.  While they operate their own unique philanthropic programs, these 500,000 plus members are an indispensable part of the Moose family.

Members and Co-workers,

On April 7th the Lodge will be having Officer elections.  Come out and participate.

On May 28th at 7:30 am we will be having our Golf Lodge Golf tournament at McCabe.  Entry for a team of four will be $280, and one member of each team must be a non-member.  The non-member on the winning team will be awarded a membership in the Lodge.

Over the last year the Lodge has incurred several PRICE INCREASES from different liquor and beer distributors.  The result is that all prices will increase $.25 effective May 1st.

Finally our lodge will be hosting the Moose Legion on the weekend of April 26th and 27.  New Legion members are welcome to bring their significant other and join us for dinner Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning before they are installed as Moose Legionaires at 10:00 am.

Price increase of $.25 on Liquor, wine and beer effective May 1, 2014.

April 26th and 27th West Nashville will be hosting the Cordell Hull 75 Moose Legion Celebration and the District 2 meeting.  Start making plans to come out and support your Lodge as we host this celebration for our District.

Don't forget the final Dash campaign started Feb. 1st and goes through April 30th.  Moose International will be adding cash incentives for sponsors as well as Lodges/Chapters/Moose Legions as we make our final dash to exceed last year's active member totals.  Look for details at the Lodge.  It's easy.  Just sign a member and go to the International website and look for your name.  Call within 24 hours to win cash.  A new name will be listed every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and a base prize being $100 and potential rollover amounts as high as $50.

Never pay dues again!  All you have to do is sign two new members or re-sign a former member, and you will be paid for the next year.  Only one free membership per year, so if you sign more than two, the others won't count for another free membership.  But there are other prizes from Moose International, and it helps to add to your 25 club.  Remember, the Moose year starts on May 1st and ends on April 30th of each year, so be sure you sign the two members within this time period.

We do not or need to part our vehicles on the West side of our building.

This is not only an inconvenience to people coming in and going out,

but it is also a VIOLATION of our fire code.

If you keep parting there, the fine will be yours to pay.

Thanks for your effort and cooperation on this matter.

 Family Activity and Sports Chairman

With all the addition nearly complete, we have a few things planned.  If you would like to suggest something or are interested in coming up with something, you can contact me at:

We need things to do to keep everyone talking MOOSE.

Stu Weaver
Sports and Family Activity

Hello, I am Bob Spingler, West Nashville Gimme 5 Chairman.

I am sure that by now you have heard or read in your Moose magazine the facts about the Gimme 5 Program for the Moose.

We the Moose stand for kids and our seniors that was one of the precepts we all committed to when we joined the Moose.

We are in need of your help!  We are all facing the rising costs of fuel, utilities, food, and much more, so too is the Moose.  The long winter nights in the Chicago area takes toll on our budget.

The current program is asking that you set aside .05 cents in the morning and .05 cents at night each day or $26.50 a year for the next five years.  These funds will not be spent on current operations, but as a buffer to continue our support of our kids and seniors in years to come.  The total five year tax deductible contribution of $182.50 from all members of the Moose will achieve that goal.

I am asking you to do a few things now.  First, those with access to a computer, go on line to the following Internet pages and see what is going on in the Moose, http://www.mooseintl.org  or http://www.moosecharities.org  and read the stories of our beloved Mooseheart and Moosehaven.

While you are there please make your first year donations of $36.50 or more to help our cause.  You can also mail your check to Moose Charities.

We will also try to have some small fund raisers at the Lodge in the future, we hop you will participate.

I would like to sometime in the future have a day at the Lodge so I can explain the total program to those that are interested.  Also any questions may be addressed to Lodge221@mooseunits.org and we will answer them.

Please if you can, help us reach our Lodge goal.

What if Mooseheart or Moosehaven earned a penny every time you searched the Internet?  Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause?  Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate.  Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo and watch the donations add up!  The more people who use this size, the more money that goes to our children and seniors.

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall that donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause!  Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macys and Barnes & Nobel have teamed up with Good Shop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

There is a website: http://www.goodsearch.com that will donate to your selected charity, Moose International.  You can even put it on your toolbar so it's the same place your current search engine is located.  Why not donate ever time you search for something on the Internet?  It will only cost you the time to install the search engine.  The directions are very easy to follow, so go to http://www.goodsearch.com now.  After you install Goodsearch, don't forget to install the toolbar so it's always on your page on top.

You can always check out the website and see how much we got donated to Moose International.  The site is Goodsearch.com.  If you have another charity you think would be good for this program, just let them know.  Year to date $44.77, based on 100 people doing 2 searches a day is $750.  Shopping $500 a year, donate 3% equals a total donation of $2,230.  There are only 73 supporters, let's spread the word.  The West Nashville Moose can make a difference if we try
